Authority to celebrate the rites of matrimony was granted to Revs. Avery Donovan and Harvey E. Bennington of the M.P. Church; Rev. John H. Beauchamp, Jr., of M. E. Church, and Rev. Geo. W. Kiracofe, of the Baptist Church.

The clerk reported to the court the list of fines reported to him in January, 1900, by Justice of the Peace.

The sheriff made report to the Judge of the number of prisoners in jail, their offences &c.

County court proceedings at June term, 1885:

John O. Byrd, surveyor of road in Metompkin District No. 21, resigned, and Samuel Trader appointed in his place -- County treasurer ordered to pay to said Byrd $2 for services as surveyor.

Account of Geo. W. Glenn, administrator of Thomas F. Lewis, deceased, confirmed and ordered to be recorded.

Proceedings, May Term, 1888.

An inquest held by L. J. Wilson, J.P., over dead body of Thoroughgood Davis, colored, was returned and filed.

M. H. Higgins, J. P., paid into court $1, fine received of Mary Susan Kellam for misdemeanor.

Robert T. Harman, J.P., paid into court $2.50, fine received of Charles Simpkins, colored for assault and battery on Lewis Savage.

November Term, 1897

ACCOMAC COUNTY COURT.

Proceedings, November Term, 1897.

Silverius C. Hall and Edwin T. Powell qualified, respectively, as a notary public for the county of Accomac.

John W. Richardson was appointed and qualified as a committee of Virginia S. Richardson, a person of unsound mind.

Spencer F. Rogers was appointed and qualified as deputy of Charles P. Finney, inspector of oysters for district no. 7 of Accomac.
