Onancock.

The schooner Wm. Turner, Capt. Henry L. Crockett, arrived at our wharf last Wednesday with a cargo of fish manure from the factory on Tangier Island. It was readily purchased by our farmers for their Spring crops.

Development -- Boosterism

This is a beautiful country, and if the steam-horse and telegraph wire were to bring it within the confines of "civilization" it would soon become the summer home of half the citizens of the "City by the Sea." The citizens appear to be intelligent and hospitable, and here you find a relic of the "old Virginia gentleman."

Seine hauling with seventy-five fathom seines is a profitable business below Capeville. They run the meshes straight out from the shore and let the tide sweep it in shore, bringing the fish with it.
