Moral -- Alcohol

The Judge of the county court of Accomac, on a petition of more than one-fourth of the qualified voters of Lee District, has issued a writ of election, for a special election to be held in said district, on the question "of granting or not granting liquor license" in said district. Said election to be held on Saturday, 5th day of January, 1889.

Wm. Core, while under the influence of liquor, stabbed Sidney Wise, colored at Drummondtown last Saturday night. He was promptly arraigned before Justice Mears and released on bail to answer the charge at the next term of our grand jury court.

Transportation -- Railroad - Litigation

The court of appeals of Virginia has reversed the decision of the circuit court of Accomac in the case of Kellam's administrator vs. New York, Philadelphia and Norfolk Railroad Co. The jury in this case assessed the damages at $2,500.
