The revival now being conducted by evangelist Gales at Wachapreague promises to prove nearly, if not quite as sweeping, as the mammoth meeting which recently closed at Belle Haven. There have been so far about 50 conversions.

Tourists and sportsmen -- Other recreation - Circuses

Main's circus at Tasley, last Saturday, was attended by about 2,500 people, and all agree that it was the best ever in the county. It was a clean show and in most respects was given as advertised. The menagerie was an excellent one, riding and trapeze work exceptionally fine -- good as Barnum's, was the commendation generally, it received.

The annual meeting of Harmanson West Camp Confederate Veterans will be held at Cape Charles Friday, August 24th. The election of officers will take place and other important business transacted. Mr. M. E. Selby, of Quigley & Mullen, shipped to his customers, south of Salisbury, over N. Y. P. & N. R. R., from 1st to 5th of June, 250 barrels of sugar. A large shipment of same was also made by him during time named to Chincoteague and other points over D. M. & Va. R. R.
