EXMORE, Va., November 24. -- Safe from the annoyances that drove him into solitude Mr. Cleveland to day ate his Thanksgiving turkey in peace and quiet at the hospitable board of Mr. Joseph E. Ferrell at his cottage on Broadwater Island. Mr. Ferrell is the president of the club that owns the clubhouse and most of the land on the island, and he has a comfortable cottage there, where Mr. Cleveland and his friends are domiciled. The weather has been cold lately, and a high wind made to day particularly disagreeable. On this account Mr. Cleveland did not go shooting to-day, but remained around the house and spent the day in conversation with the friends who are with him. If the weather should moderate to-morrow the party expects to go out in floats and bring down some of the ducks that are passing over the island on their way South. Mr. Cleveland consented to see a reporter, but declined to talk. He said that he had come to Broadwater Island for rest, and that he expected to remain about a week. At the end of that time he expects to leave here and join Mrs. Cleveland at Lakewood.
