Captain B. F. Kellogg has caught over 100 barrels of crabs thus far this season.
Work on the Catholic Church is progressing rapidly. When completed it will be one of the handsomest (and certainly the largest) churches on the Eastern Shore, being 42x100 feet, with a large gallery. It is being built of brick.
Cape Charles can now boast of nearly one thousand inhabitants, and is noted for its healthy location.

Onancock, Va., May 30. -- Your representative has interviewed many of the most intelligent farmers in this section in regard to the general crop outlook this year. The opinions as expressed to your correspondent are far from gratifying, the majority saying that everything is inferior to last year's crop, and only a limited amount of produce is expected to be raised, and that prices will be low. Peas and strawberries continue to be shipped in rather large quantities, but are bringing comparatively small prices. One gentleman informs me that he picked strawberries several days ago, the pickings alone costing him $4.47. The returns received were $1.43.
