ACCOMAC COUNTY COURT.

Proceedings, September Term, 1898.

The following fiduciary accounts were confirmed and ordered recorded, to wit: Orphan accounts of Wm. H. Harmon, Sarah Y. Anderson, John B. and Charles B. Mears, Adelaide E. Hall, Verner J. and Alfred B. Gardner.

Wm. Walsh and Claude B. Nottingham, respectively, qualified as notaries public for Accomac county.

Edward T. Lang's last will proved and ordered to be recorded.

G. Walter Mapp qualified as administrator of Edward Snead, deceased; Oscar T. Barnes and John R. Hinman (of L.) as administrators of Henry P. Mason, deceased; L. Floyd Nock, as administrator of Thomas Atkins, deceased; and Emma F. Selby, as guardian of Emma May Selby, orphan of John O. Selby, deceased.

Estates of Edward J. Young, deceased, and Bettie T. Walston, deceased, respectively, committed to John H. Wise, Sheriff, for administration.

The clerk laid before the court, as required by the law, the list of fines reported to him by Justices of the Peace during the month of August last.

The sheriff made report to the Judge, as required by law, of the number of prisoners in jail, date of commitment, offences and sentence.

Accounts against the Commonwealth in criminal cases were allowed as follows: To Levi R. Boggs, two accounts, $2 and $1.25.

Retail liquor licenses were granted to Berkley L. West, at Bobtown, and Charles C. Bevans, at Keller.

Authority was granted to Peter T. H. Ayres to assign his liquor license at Pungoteague to Alma J. Read.

The Commonwealth against Edward T. Somers, on an appeal from judgment of Justice of the Peace on a warrant charging defendant with dredging his oysters. Defendant tried and found guilty and fined $19 and costs. The judgment was suspended for sixty days on defendant's motion to allow him to apply to circuit court for writ of error and supersedeas.

Petition of Alex W. Lilliston and others for a public road from Tasley to road leading to Daugherty. Case heard by Judge Gilmor S. Kendall, of Northampton county, and road refused; petition dismissed, and petitioners ordered to pay all costs incurred in the case, except those due the viewers and County Surveyor, who are to be paid by the Treasurer out of the county funds.

Ex parte: Petition of Malinda W. Smith's executor. Report of James H. Fletcher Jr., attorney, filed and confirmed.

Ex parte: Petition of Emory J. Chase's administrator. Report of Emory J. Chase's administrator filed and confirmed.

Petition of O. H. Taylor and others for public road near Jenkins Bridge. Appearance of land owners entered, and report of viewers recommitted, with instructions to make a fuller report, &c.

Petition of Sidney M. Hancock and others, for a public road from Hallwood to Bloomtown. Report of commissioner, Wm. L. Nock, that road was completed and accepted by him, filed and confirmed. Order for payment by County Treasurer of contractor, and to parties entitled, the costs.

John S. McMath, &c., guardian, vs. John S. McMath and others. Petition filed and cause referred to John S. Parsons, Commissioner of Accounts.

Petition of W. F. Mears and others for public road from Nock's Branch to Melfa. Land owners being summoned, were called, and John E. Harmon appeared and objected. The court, after examining several witnesses, continued the case till first day of next term.
