CHAP. 265.--An ACT to allow Mrs. Mary J. Young to erect a wharf, platform, shed, and other necessary buildings for conducting the business at Franklin City, Accomac county, Virginia, adjoining her land.

Approved February 29, 1888.

1. Be it enacted by the general assembly of Virginia, That Mistress Mary J. Young, of Accomac county, Virginia, be and she is hereby authorized and permitted, to erect a wharf, platforms, shed, and other necessary buildings for conducting the business at Franklin City, Accomac county, Virginia, adjoining her land in Chincoteague bay, for the purpose of shipping oysters, clams, fish, and any other commodities to and from the same for herself and others, starting on her land at low-water mark on the northeast side of a certain street in said Franklin City, called Clinton street, and adjoining said street, following said low-water mark on her said land in a northeastwardly direction a distance of one hundred feet from the place of beginning, extending into Chincoteague bay about a southeast direction, a distance of four hundred and fifty feet, between parallel lines of one hundred feet; and the said Mistress Mary J. Young her heirs and assigns, shall have the right to charge and collect by law such compensation for the use of said wharf, platforms, shed, and other buildings thereon, or any of them, as may have been agreed upon by and between the parties, or as is usual: provided that the said wharf, platforms, shed, and other buildings shall not interfere with navigation: and provided also, that this act shall, at all times, be under the control of the general assembly of Virginia, and be amended or repealed as may be deemed proper.

2. This act shall be in force from its passage.
