CHAP. 293.--An ACT to allow Major W. Pilchard to erect a wharf, platforms, sheds, and other necessary buildings for conducting the business at Greenbackville, Accomac county, Virginia adjoining his land.

1. Be it enacted by the general assembly of Virginia That Major W. Pilchard, of Worcester county, Maryland be, and he is hereby, authorized and permitted to erect a wharf, platform, sheds and other necessary buildings for conducting the business at Greenbackville, Accomac county, Virginia, adjoining his land on Chincoteague bay,
for the purpose of shipping lumber, cord wood, staves,
oysters, clams, fish, and any other commodities to and
from the same for himself and others--starting on the land
of said Major W. Pilchard at low-water mark on the south-west side of and at the mouth of a small gut or creek, following said low-water mark on the land of said Major W. Pilchard in a southwestwardly direction about three hundred
feet to the line of John H. Young, and extending into Chincoteague bay, about a southeast direction a distance of five hundred feet, between parallel lines of about three hundred feet, or the distance from the point of first beginning to the line of said John H. Young, on the southwest; and the said Major W. Pilchard, his heirs and assigns, shall have the right to charge and collect by law, each compensation for the use of said wharf, platforms, sheds and other buildings thereon, or any of them, as may have been agreed upon by and between the parties, or as is usual: provided that the said wharf, platforms, sheds and other buildings shall not interfere with navigation; and provided also, that this act shall at all times
under the control of the general assembly of Virginia, and be amended or repealed as may be deemed proper.
2. This act shall be in force from its passage.
