CHAP. 88.--An ACT to allow the Eastern Shore steamboat company of Maryland, to acquire, hold, and dispose of a certain tract of land in Northampton county, Virginia.

1. Be it enacted by the general assembly of Virginia, That it shall be lawful for the Eastern Shore steamboat company, an incorporated company under the laws of the state of Maryland, and now running a line of steamboats from the Eastern Shore of Virginia to Baltimore, Maryland, to purchase, hold, own, lease, and control in any manner, grant, bargain, sell, convey, mortgage, convey by deed of trust, and otherwise dispose or deal with the farm known as Concord, situated on Occohannock creek, in Northampton county, Virginia, containing two hundred and fifty acres more or less; to lay out such lands, or any part thereof, into lots or parcels of convenient size, with intervening roads, streets, lanes and alleys; to erect thereon dwellings, stores, houses, hotels and other improvements, and to work, improve, cultivate, and otherwise develop and dispose of the came in such manner and upon such terms as the said company may think proper; to erect a wharf or wharves connected with said farm, build houses adjacent thereto for fish, oysters, and other purposes; to plant oysters, clams, and other shell-fish; to erect fish. hatching houses for practical and scientific purposes.
