Cold Weather

The weather during March was unusually cold. Beginning last Saturday there was a cold wave and Saturday night the temperature fell as low as 23 degrees above zero, very cold for this season of the year. There was much ice and a very heavy frost. The month was not only cold but excessively dry, the rainfall being only 1.36 inches. Spring crops, especially potatoes, are very backward.
