August, 1911
The month of August was above the average in temperature, and for the greater part unusually dry. It has been a continuation of the great drouth of the summer up to the 30th, when the dry spell was effectually broken by a soaking rain. The highest of the thermometer was 98 on the 11th; lowest 61 on the 19th and 20th. Mean average for the month 79.81. From the 1st to the 18th was a hot spell, and again from the 24th to 31st. The rainfall for month was 4.55 inches. There was several thunder storms.
