Eastville, Va., July 13. -- The people of this section are still very busy shipping their potatoes. About two-thirds of the crop has been gotten off. The yield is now fine in most cases, in a measure compensating for the rather low price.

Mrs. Catherine Churn, widow of he late John E. Churn, died Tuesday at her home in Parksley at about 63 years of age. She leaves four grown children.

The annual pony penning on Chincoteague, one of the distinctive features in the history of that island, will take place July 23. This year the occasion will be graced with the presence of Governor Swanson and Mrs. Swanson, who will go to the island on the oyster police boat Commodore Maury, in company with the members of the State Board of Fisheries. The day will be celebrated with more than the usual gusto and many visitors from the mainland and other points will likely be present.
