Onancock, Va., July 26. -- Prof. William Pleasants and his daughter, Miss Mary Pleasants, of Hollins Institute, are visiting B. Lacy Hoge, pastor of the Baptist church. Prof. Pleasants has purchased a home in Accomack county, Nandua Creek, where the family will spend the summer, and which will be their permanent home when he gives up teaching at Hollins.

Governor Swanson and party, who have been to Chincoteague Island to witness the annual pony pinning, will visit Onancock tomorrow, arriving here about 8 a. m.

This year has broken all records of the shipment of Irish potatoes in Accomack county. From 1000 to 3000 barrels have left this wharf on every boat. The wharves on Onancock creek have been crowded for a week at the time. The boats could not move them as fast as brought in. More boats are greatly needed.
