Eastville.

The University of Virginia Alumni are to have an annual meeting and banquet at Accomac courthouse on April 13, Jefferson's birthday. The invitations have been sent out by the secretary, Mr. B. Robertson, of this place.

A deed from Mr. Henry A. Wise and Mrs. John S. Wise, of New York, to the Cape Charles Railroad Company has recently been recorded, conveying 45 acres of land at the Cape extremity in this county. It included the shore rights at deep water on the cape. The situation is a beautiful one for transportation purposes or for a summer resort.

The annual teachers' convention of Northampton county is being held in Cape Charles, beginning today. This evening Dr. A. B. Coffee of William and Mary college delivered an address of much interest. The meeting was opened by the superintendent, Mr. L. L. Nottingham, and a large number of teachers are in attendance, several being present from Accomac. The association will hold sessions tomorrow and tomorrow night. Mr. J. D. Eggleston, State Superintendent, will then be present, as well as others.
