George Drummond, a young negro of bad character, was yesterday brought here from Franktown and lodged in the county jail to await the action of the grand jury, charged with cutting Zephania Spady.

Miss Key, of Baltimore, a well known writer for the Baltimore Sun Sunday edition, is here today looking up old family records.

Mr. Lingo, a fireman of the south bound midnight freight, yesterday morning in leaning too far out to the cab was struck by the cattle pen here, knocked off the train and badly wounded. Dr. Holland was hastily summoned. The wounds were dressed and he was later taken to Cape Charles. He was thought to be in a dying condition.
