Eastville, Va., January 15 -- There was a meeting of the Board of Supervisors of this county and that of Accomack here Saturday to discuss the subject of an appropriation and exhibit at the Jamestown Exposition, to be paid for jointly.

Members, Lilliston, Nock and Kellam, of the Accomack Board, were present, and members Samuel Townsend and George R. Mapp, of this county. There were advances made in favor of an appropriation, by Messrs. G. F. Parramore, O. F. Mears, A. J. McMath and N. B. Wescott, and an expression of the opinion of the people present resulted in a unanimous voice in favor of action to that end. After consultation, the Accomack Board decided to adjourn and get a meeting of that body at Accomack tomorrow. The Northampton Board voted an appropriation of $750 and will at once take steps to carry out the plans. The Eastern Shore Produce Exchange will have an exhibit, and it is the idea to combine all together.

The Circuit Court of this county was in session yesterday and today, Judge W. I. Clopton, of Manchester, presiding in the place of Judge Blackstone, who is still not well enough to sit up, thought much improved. The attention of the court has been taken up almost entirely with the criminal docket, which has been disposed of as rapidly as possible.

There were some twenty indicted for violations of the liquor laws. All of these got off with the lightest fines prescribed and went their way rejoicing. The fines in many cases not being as much as the license would have been for one month, while the violators had in some cases a free hand for some two years or more before they were caught. There is a very large traffic in liquor in this county.
