Eastville, Va., August 8. -- The truckers of this section are now engaged in planting their Fall crop of white potatoes. From appearances there will be a larger crop than usually planted in this county. The Northampton Fall grown white potatoes are usually in great demand for seed purposes, especially in the far South Those planted now will mature by the first week in November. The season thus far has been favorable for planting this crop.

Accomack begins shipping sweet potatoes this week, in a small way, and those who are fortunate enough to have any ready get fine prices, as they are quoted at from $4.00 to $5.00 a barrel.

The commissioners appointed to view the location for the railroad line from Bayview to the Cape are going over the lands today. Only a few contested, and in only seven of these, was there a fight for a new commission, after the award of last February was set aside by the court as being excessive.

A number of the horsemen of this county have made entries for the Tasley fair, which comes off next week.

Mr. John T. Wilkins, III., and Mrs. Wilkins left this morning for Norfolk where they will visit the Exposition for the remainder of the week. Mrs. Wilkins will act as assistant hostess at the Virginia building while there.
