Farmers -- Innovation

Eastville, Va., January 4. -- A very interesting Farmers' Institute was held here yesterday. Mr. J. H. C. Beverly, of Essex, the member of the State Agricultural board for the district presiding.

Professor R. J. Davidson, of the Virginia Polytechnic and Professor A. M. Soule, professor there and director of the experimental station, also made instructive addresses. Professor Davidson spoke on the use of commercial fertilizers and Professor Soule on corn and potatoes.

The attendance was small, as many truckers are very busy this week planting cabbage and getting ready for the potatoes in the Spring.

Messrs. Beverly, Davidson and Soule left by the 6:30 train for Onley where they have an appointment for today.

These institutes are excellent ways of instructing farmers and setting them to work in a more skillful manner.
