Eastville.

The price of potatoes took a rise yesterday and soon went to $2.75 in some of the city markets. There has been no abating in the large number shipped daily, but about three-fourths of the crop is now out and by the end of the week this balance will be greatly reduced, if barrels can by secured. The yield is now splendid, as the stock is fully matured but some are injured by the hot weather and there is danger of these rotting.

It is expected that a large number will attend the Eastern Shore Day celebration at the Jamestown Exposition, August 1st. An attractive program has been arranged.
