Bad Weather, But Good Attendance -- The Races.

Cape Charles, Va., August 16.

The second day of the Chesapeake Agricultural Fair was very well attended, notwithstanding a heavy gale, which was blowing all day, with occasional showers of rain, that interfered with the racing. A foot-race was run in front of the grandstand by Edward B. Dickerson, of Berlin, Md., and Roy White, of Parksley, Va. The latter won, making the 100 yards in 10 1-5 seconds.

Below is summary of races:

First race -- purse $150, 2:32 class -- Sam Patch, Elkington Stock Farm, Eastville, Va., 3, 4, 3; Lady Maude, T. N. Nelson, Accomac, Va., 2, 2, 4; Susie J., James Brothers, Kendall Grove, Va., 4, 3, 2; White Tips, Kellam and Parks, Belle Haven, Va., 1, 1, 1. Time, 2:32.

Second race -- purse $100, 3-year-old class, Eastern Shore, Va. -- Isabelle, Elkington Stock Farm, Eastville, Va., distanced; Ross, W. B. Duncan, Bullbeggar, Va., 4, 3, 3; St. Paul, T. N. Nelson, Accomac, Va., 2, 2, 2; Lloyd, E. N. Nottingham, Eastville, Va., 1, 1, 1; Gold Burr, R. W. West, Onancock, Va., 3, 4, 4. Time, 2:40 1/4.

Third race -- purse $200 -- Elroy, Ira C. Nelson, Richmond, Va., 2, 2, 2; Annie Russell, B. F. Sheridan, Baltimore, Md., 4, 4, 4; Sport, Kellam and Parks, Belle Haven, Va., 1, 1, 1; J. R., C. A. Kellam, Keller, Va., 3, 3, 3. Time, 2:27.
