Onancock, Accomac county, Va., May 3.

To-day, at Northampton County Court-house, (Eastville), William S. Mercer, Deputy State Organizer of the Farmers' Alliance, instituted a county Alliance from the numerous county sub-Alliances.

To-day a neat looking, seven column newspaper, called the Accomac Democrat, published here, made its first appearance. It is edited by Mr. Samuel L. Crockett, formerly of Pocomoke City, Md.

It is the general opinion here that should the recently incorporated Norfolk Business Men's Association concentrate their efforts in the endeavor to get the bulk of the Eastern Shore trade from the various Northern cities, and perfect arrangements whereby freight charges would be the same or less, and the time no longer in shipping and receiving freight from Norfolk than other points where the bulk of our trade now goes, that they would meet with unbounded success. The difficulties mentioned can easily be overcome.
