Development -- Boosterism

The Eastern Shore of Virginia is rapidly becoming recognized as one of the most favored spots in the South, and Northern thrift and capital is lavishly bestowed upon us. There are now several Summer resorts on our coast, which are becoming celebrated for the salubrious climate and unexcelled bathing attractions. The woods abound with wild fowl of every description, and the waters are laden with every species of fish. Large tracts of island lands are also busy being bought up. Real estate agents are kept busy answering enquires concerning the climate, soil, etc., which come from almost every part of the United States. Sales are almost continuously being affected by them.
