Onancock.

Lying with his skull fractured and a pistol wound in his hand, is the condition of Nathaniel Turlington, a white man aged about fifty-five years.

The report that reached here Monday of the tragedy not being confirmed, THE VIRGINIAN scribe went to the scene of the affair and gained a comprehensive and authentic report of it.

Sometime last week William Addison Kellam, a notorious old Accomacian, whose reputation as a "bad man" before the war is not one of peace now, went down to his farm, which is about three miles from Locustmount, this county, from Pungoteague, (where he keeps a hotel,) loaded with the fiery liquid. Arriving there, something his tenant, Turlington, had done about the farm incensed him, and after abusing him for some time, Kellam who is considerably over 60 and quite feeble, ran into the house and returned with a pistol, which he fired at Turlington, the ball taking effect in the hand, causing a painful but not dangerous wound, then, throwing the pistol aside, he caught up a heavy bludgeon and rushing up to the wounded man, dealt him a terrific blow upon the head, fracturing his skull.

Medical attendance was called in and the wounds pronounced necessarily fatal.
