Onancock, November 17.

The new Methodist church at Pungoteague was dedicated last Sunday, Rev. A. C. Bledsoe preaching the sermon. A subscription was taken up and $600 raised on the spot to pay off the debt of the church.

A party of thirty Pennsylvania capitalists arrived in the northern part of Accomack yesterday with a view to buying eligible lands in this section. Most of the lands on the seaside fronting Chincoteague bay have already been purchased by northern people. The lands in that immediate section are favorably located for field and water sports. They are also very productive and contain the most beautiful building sites on the Eastern Shore.

Many persons from the Eastern Shore have attended the Richmond Exposition, and all come home delighted with what they have seen. Many who had never seen Richmond before were surprised to find such a splendid city. The regret is universally expressed here that Accomack did not acquire room in the Exposition buildings for the display of her fine products. She can beat the world on sweet potatoes and garden products.
