EDITOR FOREST AND STREAM: --

I am sorry to inform you that the Virginia Legislature has again failed to make an appropriation for the furtherance of her fishery interests. The bill passed the House but was defeated in the Senate by a small majority. This ontoward result has been owing partly, no doubt, to the lamentable condition of the State finances, but mainly, I fear, to culpable ignorance of the importance of the subject on the part of many of our "legislators, so called," as Bill Arp would say. However, the friends of the fish will keep "pegging away" until we achieve our ends.

Yours truly,

A. WALL.
