Onancock.

Great excitement prevails in Upper Accomac over the finding of the body of a drowned officer in a merchant vessel. The body was robbed of everything of value by the finders and turned adrift again. A boy, who did not receive his share of the booty, told the authorities of it, and search was immediately instituted, which resulted in the finding of the body and an inquest held. The man was from Lowell, Mass.

The following town officers were elected here yesterday: For Mayor, James C. Weaver; Town Council, R. L. Hopkins, W. C. West, George Killmon, Smith Walter, Tully A. T. Joynes. There was no opposition ticket in the field. Politics did not enter into the fight.
