Many prominent politicians and Northern capitalists have been at Chincoteague Island for several days. Among them were Hamilton Disston and Matthew S. Quay, who are expected to come down the coast on Mr. Disston's yacht Manitee as far as Wachapreague, where they will spend several days.

Strawberries are being shipped in large quantities to the Baltimore, Philadelphia, New York, Boston and Providence markets. They are bringing about 5 cents per quart.

Sensational developments concerning the cause of young Jackson Kellam's suicide Monday have just come to light. It seems that young Kellam was deeply in love with a 13-year-old girl of Belle Haven, but that he had been forbidden by her father to visit her. Evidently deeming life not worth living without her he determined to kill himself. The opinions of the attending physicians are that he cannot possibly live.
