The court of the County of Accomac at its last term refused to confirm the report of the commissioners appointed to assess the damages to land owners along the line of the Peninsula R. R. in certain cases because the value of timber upon the land was not considered by the commissioners in their estimate of damage to land owners in making up their verdict. Another report has since been made by other commissioners appointed by the court and we give below for the information of the public, the difference in figures of the two sets of commissioners.

By report of the first commissioners, Jos. G. Belote was awarded by way of damages, $18 for one piece of land and $50 for another; by last commissioners, $67 and $235. John S. Martin's damages by first assessed $64, changed to $175. J. P. McMath's damages by first assessed $75, changed to $390. Jas. H. Belote's damages by first assessed $15, changed to $85. J. H. Belote's and Miss D. Ross by first assessed $25 changed to $90.

We are authorized to state that the report current in the county of a change in the line of the Peninsula R. R. is without any foundation whatever. The road will be built without any material variation along the line established by recent survey, and as rapidly as possible. Dr. E. W. Goerke at this time advertises that he wishes to employ 100 hands to assist in pushing forward the good work.
