ONANCOCK, Va, June 3, 1882.

Captain Garrison, of the steamer Daisy, succeeded yesterday in catching off the Capes at one haul over 2,000 black drumfish, ranging in weight from 20 to 60 pounds. They were rapidly sold at from 35 cents to $1 each, and the catch will pan out about $800.

Strawberries are very plentiful and nice here at six cents per quart, and the shipment of berries, peas and asparagus from this point is now quite heavy.

This town is a thriving business place, has about twenty stores, some of them quite large and well stocked; two drug stores, several good churches, a town hall, a good hotel, a canning establishment and daily mails, some days two. There is also a coal and a lime yard, four or five wharves and a bridge across the creek, which adds much to the convenience of the country people. The town has just been incorporated, a democratic mayor and council elected, and is altogether making a decided onward movement.
