ACCOMAC COUNTY COURT.

Proceedings, November Term, 1887.

The following fiduciary accounts were confirmed -- Audits of estates of Sarah R. Heath, Sylvester J. Marshall, James S. Turner, Thomas A. Coxton, Smith Joynes, Polly Belote, George T. East and Shepherd Downing.

Thomas H. James qualified as adm'r. of John C. White, John O. Selby as guardian of Solomon Selby and John T. Savage as guardian of Mary S. Adams.

John J. Blackstone, treasurer, made report of the sales of delinquent lands, and of lands redeemed before sale, for year 1884, which continued until next term for exception by any person affected by the same.

John W. Turlington, inspector of oysters for the 3rd district, made report for the three months ending December 1st, 1887 showing collections amounting to $9.36, of which $8.43 is due the Commonwealth.

Bar room license granted Peter P. Hack at Pungoteague.

Wm. H. Oliver vs. Cordie A. Kellam (on attachment for rent). Judgment for plaintiff and order for sale of attached effects to satisfy same.

Petition filed by Louis F. Marshall and others for a public road on Saxes Island. Order appointing viewers.

Orders on county treasurer in road and bridge matters were entered as follows: For Wm. J. White, $4; John H. Drummond, $6; B. B. Mears, $2; McComas Justice, $7.75; Wm. T. Lewis, $3; A. W. Johnson, $5; Jas. A. Winder, $5; Major Mason, $14; Joseph T. Hopkins, $12; Oswald J. Adams, $2; Wesley W. Bull, $17.59; John L. Gillespie, $8; J. E. Justice, $7; Fred Waddy, $8; Wm. J. Coleburn, $8.50; L. Floyd Nock, $18.24; A. J. Lilliston, $13.08; D. H. Johnson, $15.40.

John H. Drummond, surveyor of road resigned and Thaddeus K. Martin was appointed in his place.

Commonwealth vs. Jas. S. Nock (on indictment No. 1 for selling intoxicating liquors). Motion for new trial overruled. Judgment for $100 fine and defendant arrested and sent to jail for 30 days. Indictment No. 2 and 4 same offence continued until next term. On indictment No. 8, defendant was tried and the evidence being insufficient to convict, nolle prosequi was entered.

Commonwealth vs. Henry W. Clayton, Samuel Ewell and John S. Gray, (on indictment for disturbing religious worship.) Nolle prosequi entered as to defendant Gray and continued as to defendants Clayton and Ewell until April term, 1888.

Commonwealth vs. Wm. D. Lewis, Wm. Walsh, Wm. Waterman, A. H. Drummond and Duffield Savage, (on indictments for selling intoxicating liquors). Defendants were tried, convicted, fined $300 and sent to jail for 90 days.

Petition of John M. Bloxom and others for public road. Order appointing viewers to assess damages to Frank Lankford for his land to be taken.

Petition filed by Joseph J. Hopkins, surveyor of the public road for shells, for his road from the corporation limits of Onancock to Point of Forks and viewers appointed.

The N.Y. P., & N. R. R. Co., appellant vs. George Custis, appellee. Judgment of J. P. in favor of appellee against R. R. Co., affirmed.

Order entered in favor Lydia Jeannette Dix for the support of her infant children out of the funds of said infants in the hands of Geo. J. Dix's adm'r.
