ACCOMAC COUNTY COURT.

County court proceedings at June term, 1885:

John O. Byrd, surveyor of road in Metompkin District No. 21, resigned, and Samuel Trader appointed in his place -- County treasurer ordered to pay to said Byrd $2 for services as surveyor.

Account of Geo. W. Glenn, administrator of Thomas F. Lewis, deceased, confirmed and ordered to be recorded.

Same order as to Thos. C. Walston, administrator c. t. a. of Wm. H. Parker, deceased.

Same order as to Wm. C. Mapp, trustee of the funds of Jno. E. Wescott & Co.

Same order as to E. H. Conquest, administrator of J. E. Window, deceased.

The last will and testament of Benjamin T. W. Byrd, deceased, was probated and ordered to be recorded.

John P. L. Hopkins was appointed and qualified as guardian of Gracie and Harry A. Hopkins, orphans of W. H. A. Hopkins, deceased.

Solomon Hargis was granted letters of administration on the estate of Wm. Hargis, deceased and same ordered to be recorded.

George B. Mason appointed and qualified as guardian of John F., Mary A., James D. and Janie M. Lingo, orphans of John M. Lingo, deceased.

James H. Mason was appointed and qualified as guardian of Alfred M., Ida A., Clara S. and Wm. W. Mason, orphans of Wm. P. Mason, deceased.

Wm. E. Jacob, Thos. C. Kellam, D. Frank White, Thomas T. Taylor and John A. M. Whealton qualified as supervisors in their respective districts to wit, Pungoteague, Lee, Metompkin, Atlantic, and Chincoteague.

George E. Bull, L. James Gunter, T. S. Byrd, George T. Gladding qualified as constables in their respective districts to wit, Pungoteague, Lee, Metompkin, Atlantic.

Thos. W. Blackstone, Alfred J. Lilliston, Samuel T. Taylor, Samuel J. Davis and Josiah P. Baker qualified as overseers of the poor in their respective districts to wit, Lee, Pungoteague, Metompkin, Atlantic and Chincoteague.

John D. Wimbrough, Burwell B. Ewell and Wm. T. Parks qualified as Justices of the Peace for the district of Metompkin.

Raymond R. Stant, Ambrose S. Taylor and Solomon Warner qualified as Justices of the Peace for the district of Atlantic.

Josiah P. Baker qualified as Justice of Peace for district of the Islands.

Thomas W. Blackstone and Wm. S. Hope qualified as Justices of the Peace for the district of Pungoteague.

Levi R. Boggs, Francis M. Sturgis and Joseph W. Mears qualified as Justices of the Peace for district of Lee.

D. Frank White qualified as Notary Public.

It was ordered that license of Hiram P. Poulson, bar room liquor dealer be transferred from Messongo to Bayleytown.

A bar room license was granted to Geo. S. West at Craddockville.

A retail liquor license was granted to Upshur Bayly at Ballyville.

Two deeds from James H. Evans and Margaret, his wife, Wm. S. Hope and John Neely trustee for the sole and separate use of said Margaret to John D. Parsons, and to the officers and members of the Sweet Home Lodge, respectively, were ordered to be recorded. Letters of administration were granted to Estelle M. Anderson on the estate of Edward W. Anderson and it was ordered that same be recorded.

The report of Samuel T. Ross, commissioner in case of L. Medora Colonna's guardian vs. L. Medora Colonna, was confirmed and cause removed from docket.

Ex parte petition of James H. Mason, guardian, Alfred M. Mason and others, ordered that cause be referred to one of commissioners of court to take proof whether certain expenditures thereon set forth are necessary, etc.

The motion of Samuel T. Taylor for bail was overruled. On further motion it was ordered that he be confined in the debtor's apartments of jail and be allowed privilege of jail yard during the day.

A certificate was granted John W. Bunting to obtain license to manufacture oil and manure from fish known as alewife or menhaden.

A certificate was granted Wm. C. Bunting to obtain license as the head of a gang of men working seine or purse net in catching alewife or menhaden.

On application of the Sea Fish Guano Co., composed of Joseph T. Kenney and others a certificate was granted to obtain a license to manufacture oil or manure from fish known as alewife or menhaden.

An account of W. P. M. Kellam atty for Commonwealth, amounting to $55 was examined, allowed and ordered to be certified to auditor of public accounts.

Same order as to account amounting to $5 of Geo. T. Scarburgh, justice of peace.

Same order as to account amounting to $10.50 of Dr. George T. Scarburgh for attendance upon prisoners in jail.

Report of Thomas Pettit, inspector of oysters for 1st district in county, of fees &c., collected for quarter ending June 1st amounting to $537.36 was examined and account due by him, viz: $435.54 to State was ordered to be certified to auditor of Public accounts.

Same order as to Samuel J. Davis inspector of 2nd district, amount collected $40.48, amount due State $36.44.

Same order as to W. J. Barnes, inspector of 5th district, amount collected $702.64, amount due State $632.39.

Same order as to J. C. Justice, inspector of 7th district for the quarter ending June 1st amount collected $702.50, amount due State $632.29.

An account of Geo. T. Scarburgh, justice of peace for the sum of $2 was examined and allowed.
