ACCOMAC COUNTY COURT.
Proceedings, May Term, 1901.
The clerk made report to the court list of fines, reported by Justice of Peace, which was examined and ordered to be filed.
The following fiduciary accounts were examined by the court and ordered to be recorded: Audits of estates of Benjamin T. Parker, M. Oldham Jr., John T. Scott, Wm. Mason of M, Charles P. Finney; orphan accounts of Maggie E. and John T. Wright, Annie F. and Virginia C. Pitts, Mitchell W., Mabel W. and Winnie Lee West, Broaddus G., Viola S., Patrick L., Page W. and George D. Kilmon; guardian accounts of Evelyn W. and Alice L. Mister; trust accounts of Thomas J. Gray and wife, Elizabeth M. Floyd, Abel H. Wise and wife.
Lloyd F. J. Wilson qualified as Notary Public for county of Accomac.
Retail liquor license was granted to Thomas R. James at his house at Locustville.
Letters of administration were granted to Thomas P. and Jesse C. Evans, on the estate of Bettie A. Evans, deceased.
An inquest held by A. S. Taylor, J.P., acting coroner, over the dead body of Alonzo Thomas was returned to court and ordered to be filed.
William D. Tunnell, commissioner of revenue for district No. 2, made report to court as to violations of revenue laws.
Smith W. Ames gave an additional and supplemental bond as guardian of Dalena, Gertrude, Linsey T., Beatrice and George W. Griffin, orphans of Luke Griffin, deceased.
A regular grand jury was empanelled and returned "true bills": Two for murder, two for unlawfully shooting and killing marsh hens, three for unlawfully selling wine, spirituous and malt liquors and mixture thereof.
W. N. Conant qualified as supervisor for the magisterial district of Islands for term of two years, commencing on 1st day of July next.
Authority was granted Henry S. Kidd, of the Baptist Church, to celebrate the rites of matrimony.
John S. Tyler qualified as Notary Public for county of Accomac.
Upon petition of A. F. Mears and others to widen public road. Summons to adjacent land owners to appear at next term of Court to show, if any they can, why order should not be entered requiring them to remove their enclosures.
An inquest held by George E. Winder, J.P., acting coroner, over the dead body of Levin White was returned to the Court and ordered to be filed.
Ex parte: Petition of Geo. R. Justice and others to alter public bridge. Order entered certifying it to Board of Supervisors for their approval or rejection.
