ACCOMAC COUNTY COURT.

Proceedings, August Term, 1897.

The following fiduciary accounts were confirmed and ordered recorded: Audits of estates of Susan A. Martin, Calvin T. Mears, Bagwell Chandler, Ella H. Lilliston, James H. Fletcher Sr., and Thomas A. Evans; trust accounts of Isaac T. Wright and wife and Sarah J. Mister.

Jno. S. Waples entered into a new bond as guardian of Harry Thompson and William Bagwell Mears, orphans of Wm. H. P. Mears, deceased.

Authority to marry was granted to Rev. Benj. E. Wallace, of the Presbyterian Church.

Accounts against Commonwealth in criminal cases were allowed as follows: Levi R. Boggs, J.P., $2; Thos. G. Elliot, J.P., $6; Jailer, $72.05; John Marriner, special constable, 75 cents; Geo. E. Winder, J.P., $7.

Thomas W. Blackstone was appointed trustee in place of John W. Gillet, deceased, in deed from Lloyd C. Mears and wife for the benefit of John A. Bundick and others.

Webb & Suttle vs. Geo. T. Broughton, Parker Hardy and Joseph Slocomb: Cause continued by consent until 2d day of next term.

Rose Belote, widow, vs. Wm. J. Belote's administrators. Report of H. T. Gunter Jr. filed, order entered confirming same.

Application of E. J. Miles and others for a public bridge over Modestown branch. The viewers made their report, which was duly filed.

Petition of Wm. H. Matthews and others for a public road. Viewers made their report, and same duly filed.

Application of Asa J. Taylor, surveyor, to repair Bullbeggar bridge. Application filed and approved, but the expenditure necessary being over $30, the same was certified to the Board of Supervisors.

Application of Jas. A. Winder, road machine manager, to repair bridge at the head of Machipungo Creek. Order entered directing the bridge to be repaired, and for report by manager.

Application of John F. Nelson and others for a public road. Order entered confirming the report of Commissioner who opened the road, for payment of land damages and other expenses incurred in building the road and costs of the petition.

Petition of J. O. Mears and others for a public road. Petition filed and viewers appointed.

Petition of Wm. M. Needles and others for a public road. Order entered appointing Jas. H. Fletcher Jr. commissioner to advertise for proposal to build the road strictly in accordance with the report of the viewers.

Order entered appointing Jas. H. Fletcher Jr. trustee in place of Joseph E. Brodwater, resigned, in deed from Joseph W. Corbin and wife to said Brodwater, trustee for Sarah K. Feddeman.

The last will of Southey S. Parramore, deceased, was proved and Sallie T. Y. Parramore qualified as executrix thereof.

Frank McKay vs. C. S. Witham and M. E. Witham. Causes continued on motion of McKay, until 2d day of next term.

Petition of Frank Fletcher and others for a public road. Henry E. Byrd,one of the viewers, returned his report, which was duly filed.

Samuel A. Godwin qualified as Notary Public for county of Accomac.

Order entered directing executor of William S. Kellam, deceased, to pay legatees of said Kellam without a refunding bond.

Application of Levin R. Lewis and others for a public road. Tully E. Hurst, commissioner, reported road as duly built, and order entered confirming report, for payment of land damages, further expenses incurred in building the road, and the costs of the petition.

Frank Bell, colored, was discharged from jail, having served out his term and being unable to pay fine and costs for which he was detained.

Arzilla F. Kelley vs. N.Y.P. & N.R.R. Co. Order amending warrant and dismissing same and judgement for railroad for its costs in defense of warrant.

Petition of Isabella and Daniel Jones' guardian (L. Floyd Nock). Petition filed and referred to commissioner S. T. Ross.

Petition of E. T. Somers and others for a public road. Ordered that the proprietors and tenants of the land proposed to be taken for the road be summoned to appear on first day of next term to show cause, if any they can, why the road should not be opened as proposed.
