ACCOMAC COUNTY COURT.

Proceedings, March Term, 1899.

Thomas S. Hopkins qualified as guardian of Frederick W. Hopkins, orphan of Spencer D. Hopkins, deceased.

William W. Bell qualified as guardian of Lola Gertrude Davis, orphan of Littleton B. Davis, deceased.

Alexander Booker, colored, qualified as administrator of Manton L. Byrd, deceased.

Last will of Dr. Joseph E. Brodwater, deceased, was proved, and Montcalm Oldham Jr. qualified as executor.

The clerk made report of the fines reported to him by Justices of the Peace in month of February 1899.

The sheriff made report of the number of prisoners in jail, their offences, sentences, &c.

Accounts against the Commonwealth in criminal and lunacy cases were allowed as follows: To Joseph C. Wescott, constable, $13.49; William B. Duncan, special constable, $4.12; A. S. Taylor, J.P., $1.00 and $1.50; Luther N. Boggs, J.P., $1.00; William R. Moore (burial of unknown body), $4.00; jailor, (board of lunatic) $14.00, (board of prisoners) $58.10.

Liquor license granted to Thomas M. Chandler at "Harrington" in Pungoteague district.

The Commonwealth against William J. Riggs (on indictment for unlawfully playing at cards at a public place). Defendant was tried, found not guilty, and discharged.

The following fiduciary accounts were confirmed, to wit: Audits of estates of Charles P. Finney, Benjamin T. Gunter, Benjamin T. Parker and Jane Shreaves; orphan accounts of John and Walter Belote, Bessie C. Kellam, and Charles S. Smith's trust account.

Isaac N. Hearn vs. Sewell H. Richardson (on attachment). Order for sheriff to collect bond, pay unpaid costs and balance to plaintiff.

Petition of Thomas R. Mears and others for public road (from angle in main Chesconnessex road over land of John W. H. Parker to a point within about 150 yards of out gate of Thomas R. Mears). Petition filed and order appointing viewers.

Petition of Board of Directors of Eastern Shore Agricultural Association and others for a public road (from Keller to Fair Grounds, &c.). Petition filed and order appointing viewers.

Thomas F. Floyd vs. Seymour Thomas Joynes (on an attachment for rent). Continued to third day of next term.

E. C. DeWitt & Co., appellants, against L. C. Gordy & Co., appellees (on appeal). Dismissed on motion of appellants.

The James Clark Co., appellants, against C. R. Lewis & Co., appellee, (on appeal). Dismissed on motion of appellant.
