ACCOMAC COUNTY COURT.

Proceedings, January Term, 1896.

Accounts against Commonwealth in criminal and lunacy cases were allowed as follows: Thomas W. Blackstone, J.P., $1; John R. Thomas, captain of oyster police boat, $1.14; John D. Watts, J.P., $1.50 and $1; W, M. Taylor, J.P., $4.50 and $1; jailer, $78.80.

John S. Waples qualified as administrator of David B. Northam, deceased, and Geo. W. Mason as administrator of William T. Gardner, deceased.

Order entered revoking bar-room and retail liquor license of John L. Gardner, at Bull Branch.

Inquest over W. T. Garner, deceased, was returned to court and filed.

The following fiduciary accounts were confirmed and ordered to be recorded: Samuel J. Lewis and wife &c's, trust account; audits of estates of William T. Bradford and Susan T. Fitchett; committee's account of Robert L. Watson, lunatic; orphan accounts of Asa T. Taylor, Clarence S. Burch, Ida E. Hudson, Ella and James Fox, Demetrius Lewis and J. Willie Kellam.

The certificate of the commissioners of election of the recent local option election, purported to have been held in the magisterial district of the Island, was handed to the court and ordered to be recorded.

Commonwealth vs. Henry Smith (on indictment for perjury in obtaining a marriage license). Defendant tried, found guilty, sentenced to ten days in jail and to pay a fine of $5 and costs of prosecution.

Ex parte: Petition of Wm. James Mapp's late guardian. Report of Walter D. Lewis, late guardian, filed and order confirming same and directing deposit by him in Marine Bank.

Commonwealth vs. William E. Melvin (on indictment for taking oysters unlawfully from a rock claimed as private property by Ralph Burroughs). Defendant tried, acquitted and discharged.

Commonwealth vs. George Clayville Sr. (on indictment for taking oysters unlawfully from a rock claimed as private property by John H. Arbuckle). Defendant pleaded guilty and fined $5 and costs of prosecution.

Ex parte: Petition of John C. Grinnalds's administrator, c.t.a. Report of administrator filed and confirmed and cause removed from docket.

Commonwealth vs. William Redman (on a forfeited recognizance). Scire facias awarded against Redman and his surety, Major L. Hudson.

Ex parte: Petition of Mary T. Bowden. Order for payment of costs and for annual expenditures for her children's support and education.

Ex parte: Petition of Annie Kelly's administrator. Order for payment of costs by administrator and for deposit in bank of the distributive shares of Annie Kelly's estate.
