The following fiduciary accounts were confirmed and ordered to be recorded: Orphan accounts of James and Effie Downing, Henry Olive Rue, Maggie K. and Annie W. Turner, Annie E. and Ida R. Courtney, Geo. C., James T., Tankard G. and John H. Stevens, L. Marion, Jos. A. and Harry V. Baker, Mabel B., Georgia A., Pearl B. and Manie D. McMath; guardian accounts of Werner T. Gardner; trust account of Amos J. Hall and wife; account of transaction of William P. Bell, substituted trustee, with Frederick C. A. Kellam Jr. and wife's trust fund.
John W. Thornton qualified as administrator of Nehemiah Taylor, deceased.
John W. Thornton qualified as guardian of Norrie W. Taylor, orphan of Nehemiah Taylor, deceased.
A special grand jury was empanelled and returned, "true bills': Two, for feloniously causing bodily injury with intent to maim, &c; one for rape; one for larceny of a cow; one for feloniously and maliciously cutting, &c., with intent to maim &c.
Sewell B. Dennis was appointed and qualified as Justice of the Peace for the Magisterial District of the Islands to fill unexpired term of James M. Birch, resigned.
Lee B. Kellam was appointed and qualified as sheriff of Accomac to fill unexpired term of Levin J. Gunter, deceased.
The sheriff made report to the court of the number of prisoners in jail, their offences, sentences &c.
The last will and testament of Nathaniel T. Fosque, deceased, was proved and John M. Fosque qualified as his executor.
James R. Hickman qualified as administrator of Elijah W. Hickman, deceased.
Retail liquor license was granted to Thomas L. Stevens at his house at Fair Oaks.
Upon petition of Frank L. Hall and others for a public road. Petition filed and viewers appointed.
Samuel B. Slocomb qualified as guardian of his infant child, Perry B. Slocomb.
The estate of Virginia A. C. Mears, deceased, with will annexed, committed to Lee B. Kellam, sheriff, for administration.
The last will and testament of Augustus D. F. Ewell was proved and ordered to be recorded.
Ex parte: Petition of George R. Justis and others for a public bridge. Petition filed and viewers appointed.
The estate of Sarah C. Kellam, deceased, committed to Lee B. Kellam, sheriff, for administration, "so far as it remains unadministered" by late sheriff.
The estate of Jess Bowden, deceased, committed to Lee B. Kellam, sheriff, for administration, "so far as it remains unadministrated" by late sheriff.
Letters of administration were granted to Wesley T. Melson on the estate of Levin J. Gunter, deceased.
Upon petition of A. F. Mears and others for a public road. Exceptions filed to viewers' reports and order entered declining to open so much of said proposed road as is shown in the diagram filed by the viewers as extending from the "R. R. crossing", a distance of 706 yards to the public road at the "Lewis land"; and without confirming or rejecting said reports as to the opening of the other portion of said proposed road (along the railroad right of way a distance of 330 yards).
