ACCOMAC COUNTY COURT.

Proceedings, July Term, 1895.

An order was entered fixing the May and November terms as the regular grand jury terms of the court.

A. S. Taylor, J.P., paid into court $5 fine received of Sallie Crippen, colored, convicted before him of petit larceny, also $1 fine received of Joseph Meelheim convicted before him of assault and battery.

The following fiduciary accounts were confirmed and ordered to be recorded: Orphan accounts of Noah Wise, colored, Edward Lee Hickman, George Douglas, Isabel, Harriet W., and Mary Wilkins; Audits of estates of Arinthia S. Rose, Sarah A. Milliner and John J. Gunter; Account of Minnie Twyford, legatee of Elizabeth Hickman.

The last will of John Dennis Smith was proved and ordered to be recorded.

The last will of Maria G. Bunting was proved and Geo. W. LeCato qualified as executor.

Geo. W. Covington qualified as administrator of Betsy A. Covington; S. C. Hall as guardian of his infant child, Adelaide E. Hall; Henry C. Mears as guardian of Bessie J. and Enda N. Downing, orphans of John R. Downing, deceased; and William H. Lang as administrator of John H. Stevens, deceased.

Authority to celebrate the rites of matrimony was granted to Joshua N. Waters, of M.E. church.

The clerk returned as the law required his certificate of the examination of the land and property books of this county, made out by the commissioners of revenue for the year 1895, and same was duly recorded.

Joseph L. Cooper was appointed and qualified as Justice of the Peace for Magisterial District of Lee to fill the vacancy caused by the failure of Geo. C. Owens to qualify.

Thomas M. Truitt was appointed and qualified as Constable for Magisterial District of the Islands, to fill the vacancy caused by the failure of Sealmore Bloxom to qualify.

Edward Lang qualified as road surveyor for election district of Greenbackville, Alma J. Read qualified as road surveyor for election district of Pungoteague and W. J. Wessels qualified as road surveyor for election district of Mappsville.

Bar-room liquor license was granted to William T. Core at his house at Point-of-Forks in Lee district.

Authority was granted to C. M. Roberts to assign his bar-room liquor license at Coal Kiln to William P. Ward.

Authority was granted to John H. Auld to change his bar-room liquor license from Pungoteague to Pennyville.

Commonwealth vs. N.Y.P. & N.R.R. Co., on indictment for obstructing public road at Parksley. Defendant plead guilty and paid fine and costs into court.

Commonwealth vs. Albert F. Mears, (on indictment for wilful trespass on railroad property). Defendant plead guilty and judgment was entered against him for fine and costs of prosecution.

An inquest held by Wm. M. Taylor, J.P., acting coroner, over the dead body of Southey L. Goffigon was returned to the court and filed.

L. Floyd Nock resigned as guardian of Archie, Elzey N., Annie R. and Edna B. Lewis, also as guardian of Judson R. Collins, Ebe T., Ernest J., Paul, Irving W., Charles and Lloyd T. Bowden.

Ex parte: Petition of John O. Selby's executors. Order confirming report of L. Floyd Nock, attorney for Solomon Selby, and removing cause from docket.

Ex parte: Petition of Florence M. Lewis' guardian. Report of L. Floyd Nock, late guardian, filed and order confirming it.

Ex parte: Nora Wise's late guardian. Petition filed, order for payments of costs and deposit by late guardian in Marine Bank.

Ex parte: Petition of Sarah A. Milliner's administrator. Petition filed, order for payment of costs and deposit by administrator in Marine Bank.

Ex parte: Petition of Lloyd T. Bowden &c's late guardian. Order for payment of costs and approving inventory made by late guardian.

Ex parte: Petition of Wm. James Mapp's late guardian. Report of Walter D. Lewis, late guardian, filed and order confirming same.

Ex parte: Petition of James G. Fox's administrator. Petition filed and order for payment of costs and deposit in Marine Bank.

Ex parte: Petition of Judson R. Collins's late guardian. Petition filed, order for payment of costs and approving investment made by late guardian.

Ex parte: Petition of Annie R. Lewis &c's late guardian. Petition filed, order approving investment and directing payment of costs.

J. W. Taylor, appellant vs. The Philadelphia, Wilmington & Baltimore R.R. Co., (on appeal). Continued on the motion of appellant until first day of next term.

On application of M. F. Godwin and others for a drain. Order directing petitioners to pay costs and dismissing the cause.

E. T. Johnson & Bro., appellants vs. Gillet Mason &c., appellees. Verdict for defendants and judgment of Justice reversed.

On petition of E. L. Crockett and others. An order was entered appointing commissioners to wit: Alfred J. Lewis, Alma J. Read and Jno. A. Chambers to ascertain if certain oyster grounds, near Tangier Island, are natural oyster beds, rocks or shoals as alleged in the petition.
