ACCOMAC COUNTY COURT.

Proceedings, March Term, 1895.

The following fiduciary accounts were confirmed and ordered to be recorded: Audits of estates of Elizabeth Hickman, John T. Bull of C., Elijah Evans and Sallie H. Dix; orphan accounts of Emma F. LeCato, Mamie F. Johnson, Margaret K. and Annie W. Turner, Henry Olive Rew, and Henry Taylor, colored; and Louis J. Rogers and wife's trust account.

Last wills and testaments of Margaret S. Porter and Samuel C. Byrd, deceased, were proved and ordered to be recorded.

The last will of Dr. John J. Wise was proved, ordered to be recorded, and his niece, Miss Marietta Wise, qualified as the executrix thereof.

Joseph R. Riggs qualified as administrator of Samuel Lankford, deceased; Mrs. Carrie W. Rogers as administratrix of Wm. F. Rogers, deceased; Charles C. Dix as administrator of Samuel C. Mason, deceased; and Jos. C. Wescott as administrator of William T. Sample, colored, deceased.

Thos. W. Blackstone, J.P., paid into court $5 fine and $1 clerk's cost, received of John Nock, convicted of assault and battery.

John T. Chandler, J.P., paid into court $2 fine, received of William Byrd, colored, $2 fine received of Geo. Byrd, colored, and $2 fine received of Lloyd Foreman, colored, each convicted before him of wilful trespass.

Wm. T. Parks, J.P., paid into court $5 fine received of Wilbur Nock, $5 fine received of Charles Lewis and $6 fine received of Samuel Nock, each convicted before him of assault and battery.

The estate of Arthur W. Wright was committed to John H. Wise, sheriff.

Spencer F. Rogers qualified as guardian of Manie E. and John R. Rogers.

Accounts against the Commonwealth were allowed as follows: A. S. Taylor, J.P., $5; W. A. P. Strang, J.P., $4; Thomas G. Clayton, J.P., and John T. Chandler, J.P., each $1; M. Oldham Jr., clerk, $4.20; Sam'l C. Melson, jailer, $87.80.

James W. Broughton and William D. Tunnell filed their reports, respectively, as to violations of revenue laws in their districts.

Upon petition of W. J. LeCato and others for public road (Buzzard Hill road). Report of viewers filed and order entered for summoning proprietors and tenants to show cause against same.

Upon petition of Samuel H. Richardson to have public road across his land near New Church. Report of viewer filed, confirmed and authority granted petitioner to make the change and directing him to pay all costs and expenses.

A regular grand jury was empanelled and returned as true bills: One for selling liquor unlawfully, one for assault and battery, one for unlawfully opening an ordinary (hotel) on Sunday and selling liquor therein and one for feloniously entering a dwelling house with intent to commit larceny.

Charles Johnson, colored, was discharged from jail, having served the term for which he was committed and being unable to pay fine and costs.

Nancy Taylor vs. Isaiah Johnson, (upon complaint of unlawful detainer). No appearance by defendant and judgment for the plaintiff for the premises in controversy and her costs and writ of possession awarded.

Rose Belote, widow, vs. Wm. J. Belote's administrators. Order authorizing county treasurer to check on fund in Marine Bank for 1892, 1893 and 1894 taxes and clerk's fee for 1891-'2.

Ex parte: Petition of Wm. Pettit's late guardian (Joseph E. Broadwater). Report of late guardian filed and order entered confirming same.

Authority was granted Rev. Robert E. Lee, colored, of Baptist Church to celebrate the rites of matrimony.

Commonwealth vs. Robert, Richard and William (alias Babe) Somers, on indictment for assault and battery. Satisfaction in writing for the injury alleged to have been committed was filed by Jessie Taylor, the injured party, and the cause ordered to be dismissed upon the payment of the costs which the defendants have done.
