ACCOMAC COUNTY COURT.

Proceedings, September Term, 1890.

The following fiduciary accounts were confirmed and ordered to be recorded: orphan accounts of Wm. J. and Lily T. Gunter, Paul Pitts, Manly W., John W., Thomas H. and Clara F. Window, and Eva Brittingham; audits of estates of Sally Budd, Wm. J. Taylor, Wm. C. Mapp, Edward J. Taylor, Alfred M. Mason and John T. Fletcher.

Summons awarded against John H. Marshall to show cause on first day of next term why he should not be removed as guardian of Wm. J. and Lily T. Gunter.

Edwin T. and Stewart K. Powell qualified as administrators of John T. Powell, deceased.

Last will of Catharine A. Kimmerle was partly proved.

Last will of Sarah A. Adkins was proved and ordered to be recorded.

Last will of Henry Rogers was proved and Augustus S. West qualified as executor.

Last will of George W. McMath was proved and Albert J. McMath qualified as executor.

Last will of Francis West was proved and Henrietta V. West qualified as executrix.

Accounts against Commonwealth in criminal matters were allowed as follows; S. R. Nelson, J.P., $24; John H. Wise, sheriff, $141; James H. Fletcher, Jr., attorney for Commonwealth, $55.

Z. Willis and Wm. Walsh qualified respectively as Notary Public for county of Accomac.

Certificate to obtain license as head of a gang of men working a seine or purse net, to catch fish, to be manufactured into oil and for manure was granted to Peter H. Dies and also to Edward D. Chandler.

Inquest held over dead body of James T. Custis by E. W. Hutchinson, J.P., as acting corner, was returned to court and filed.

Order entered directing commissioner of accounts to examine official bond of county Treasurer and report whether said bond is sufficient in all respects.

James G. Nock made a report of his examination of Records of county surveyor, which was entered on record.

Margaret Thorns was released from jail, because unable to pay fine and costs for which she was detained.

Orders on county treasurer in road and bridge matters &c., were entered as follows; James G. Nock $5; George A. Edmonds $3; Asa L. Prescott $16; John L. Gillespie $8; Edward T. Lang (two accounts) $6 and $12; Wm. H. Marsh $12; Edward H. Custis (two accounts) $11 and 40 cents. McComas Justice (2 accounts) $9 and $2.88; Edwin N. West $5; Edward Wright (two accounts) $14 and 12 cents; J. W. Short $5.70; Charles W. Northam $16.17; George P. Parks & Co., $2.44; John W. Bowdoin $9; George F. Parramore $82; Wm. J. Joynes $6; George Jones, C. L. Bunting, Lewis Ames and James Bundick $1 each; Lewis Ward $2; Jos. J. Wescott $3; Duffield Savage $33.

Barroom and retail liquor license was granted Thomas G. Elliott, Mappsburg and hotel and retail license E. W. Barnes at Bloxom Station and barroom license to Joseph L. Hopkins at Point of Forks.

L. J. Gunter was appointed surveyor of roads in place of Geo. F. Parramore, resigned.

Thomas B. Quinby qualified as administrator of Mercer C. Broughton, deceased.

M. Oldham, Jr., clerk, laid before court a certificate of the examination by him of the Land and Property books for the present year, and was allowed for such examination $25, payable out of the State treasury.

G. G. Gillette, J.P., paid into court $5 fine received of Charles Spencer convicted before him of petit larceny, also $5 received of Sewell Stant and $5 of Littleton Stant, each convicted of like offense.

Frank Dekay, appellant vs. Zadoc Mears, appellee, continued on appellant's motion and at his costs till second day of next term.

Rules were awarded against Frank Dekay and L. P. Trader to show cause why they should not be fined for failing to attend at last term as witness.

Petition of J. W. Bowdoin and others for bridge over Bethel Branch -- Commissioner reported completion of bridge as per contract and same was approved by court.

Petition of P. D. Corbin and others for public road on Chincoteague Island -- road approved by the court and necessary expenses certified to Board of Supervisors.

John Teackle plaintiff vs. Wm. Beasley (on a distress warrant). Judgment for plaintiff and order for sale.

G. B. and T. W. Jones vs. Julius L. Bayly. Report of constable filed and confirmed and order removing cause from docket.

Ex Parte: Petition of Mary Poolman's administrator. Order to check for share of Louisa Sample of funds in Marine Bank, and payment of costs thereout.

Ex Parte: Petition of Wm. H. Harmon's administrator. Order for checks in favor of James W. Figgs acting guardian of Wm. H. Harmon's children, payment of costs &c.
