ACCOMAC COUNTY COURT.

Proceedings, May Term, 1895.

Certificates to obtain license to catch fish and to manufacture oil, &c., therefrom, were granted to John W. Bunting & Son, of Chincoteague Island.

Following fiduciary accounts were confirmed and ordered to be recorded: Orphan accounts of Carroll A. Rodgers, Annie F. and Virginia C. Pitts, Geo. H. Powell, William E. and Edward Melson, Alma D., Evelyn W. and Alice L. Mister; trust accounts of Elizabeth M. Floyd and John F. Dickerson and wife; audit of estate of Wm. E. Jacob.

The judge put in box names of 800 suitable persons to serve as jurors from which the drawn juries are to be taken during the ensuing year.

Ex parte: Petition of Elijah Kelly's admr., c.t.a. Authority was granted to Leonard and Augustus Kelly's guardian to check on Marine Bank for one half of sum therein on deposit and for Annie Kelly's admr. to check for one forth of said sum.

Accounts against Commonwealth for criminal services were allowed as follows: L. F. J. Wilson, J.P., $1; W. A. P. Strang, J.P., $6; Blackstone & Bell, (accounts) $2 and 50 cents; T. W. Blackstone, J.P., $5; John W. Bowdoin, M.D., $2.50.

Edward B. Finney resigned as executor of John Wise, colored, and also as guardian of Nora Wise, colored.

The last will of John S. Johnson was proved and Solomon T. Johnson qualified as executor.

The last will of Parker Byrd was proved.

The last will of Mary B. Hall was proved and Eugenia A. Parks qualified as executrix.

On the application of the assessors, the time for making returns of the assessment of lands in districts numbers 1 and 2 was extended to first day of July next.

James G. Nock was appointed and qualified as assistant to John J. Blackstone, assessor of lands in district No. 2.

D. Frank White, who was recommended by the Board of Supervisors, was appointed by the court and duly qualified as county surveyor for the term of four years from first day of July next.

John O. Ewell, who was recommended by the Board of Supervisors, was appointed by the court superintendent of the poor for the term of four years from first day of July next and will qualify next court.

Bar-room license was granted to Kelso & Wait at Bobtown, and Nathaniel J. Ward at Mill Bridge; bar-room and retail liquor license were granted to Clyde W. Kelly, at Nelsonia.

Isaac Baker's estate was committed to John H. Wise, sheriff.

The costs due to L. F. Wilson, J.P., N.B. Conquest, constable and John H. Wise, sheriff and jailer, in the matter of the arrest of William T. Bell, colored, charged with the attempt to rob the U. S. Mail near Sinnickson, was certified for payment by U. S. Marshall, at Richmond, Va.

Commonwealth vs. Jos. S. Pruitt, (on indictment for exhibiting a game table). The court has consented that a nolle prosequi be entered in this cause upon the payment by Mr. Pruitt of all the costs.

Commonwealth vs. Julius C. Outen (on indictment for selling liquor unlawfully). The defendant paid into court costs of prosecution incurred by the Commonwealth and cause was nolle prosequid.

The court refused to grant license to N. J. Ward to sell as a bar-room liquor dealer at his place at Wardtown, near Harborton.

The court approved the opening and establishing as a public road what is known as the Buzzard Hill road and referred the matter to the Board of Supervisors for its approval or rejections.

Peter Downing, colored, who was on the 9th of November last tried and convicted of petit larceny and sentenced to six months imprisonment in county jail, having served out the said term and being unable to pay fine and costs for which he was detained, on his application was discharged from jail.
