ACCOMAC COUNTY COURT.

Proceedings, Janurary Term, 1891.

The following fiduciary accounts were confirmed and ordered to be recorded: Audits of estates of Louis S. Roberts and Elizabeth D. East; trust accounts of Cornelius Coryelle, Solomon Copes and wife and Wm. H. Copes and wife and John J. H. Thornton and wife.

The last will of Isaac Shield was partly proved.

The last will of Mary Gillespie was proved and ordered recorded and Benj. G. Johnson, the executor named, renounced his rights to qualify.

The last will of Joshua E. Humphreys was proved and ordered to be recorded.

Wm. J. Barnes, inspector of oysters for 5th district, reported for the three months ending Nov. 30th, 1890, collections aggregating $784.61 as follows: amount received from tongmen $41.50, from dredgers $657.86, from rent of planting grounds $85.25; due State $706.15.

John C. Justice, inspector of oysters for 7th district, made report for three months ending Nov. 30th, 1890, collections aggregating $882.47 as follows; amount received from tongmen $188.95, from dredgers $677, from rent of planting rounds $11.62, from fine penalties, &c, $5; leaving due State after deducting commissions $749.23.

Travis A. Crockett qualified as administrator of Wm. L. Marshall; L. J. Gunter as administrator of Wm. H. Grant; Maggie E. Davis and Jas. H. Fletcher, Jr., as administrators of Peter H. Davis, deceased; Arthur P. Kellam as administrator of Eliza Pettis Kellam; Stanley J. Lewis as administrator of Edward T. Middleton.

Lemos Spence qualified as guardian of Annie Williams, orphan of Robert; and L. Floyd Nock as guardian of Wm. J. and Lillie F. Gunter, orphans of James H. Gunter, deceased.

On motion of Wm. B. Grant, heir at-law, John D. Grant and others, were appointed commissioners, to cosign dower in the lands of Wm. H. Grant, deceased.

Wm. Young vs. Geo. W. Perkins (on a distress warrant for rent). Judgment for plaintiff and order of sale.

A special grand jury was empannelled and returned true bills -- 4 indictments for selling liquor unlawfully, 1 for entering storehouse in night time with intent to commit larceny, 25 for felonious dredging, 1 for carrying concealed weapons, 1 for unlawfully refusing to receive a vote by judges of election, 1 for grand larceny, and 2 for assault and battery.

Esther A. Evans vs. Alexander Kesson (on attachment for rent). Report of constable filed and confirmed and cause removed from docket.

In matter of payment of John T. Elliot's estate to his legatee without a refunding bond being given. Order for payment of costs and for payment of the estate to the legatee.

Order entered appointing John E. West trustee in place of Peter H. Davis, deceased, in deed from Thos. J. Chandler for the benefit of Thos. R. Chandler.

Geo. J. Dix's administrator vs. J. Morgan Dix et als., (on petition). Order for payment of costs and share of Rosa V. Wimbrough, nee Dix.

Order on county treasurer in bridge matters were entered as follows: For Major W. Pilchard, $18.82; Ira Payne, 64 cents; H. T. White, $10; Major T. Wise, $12.70.

Last will of Sarah F. Beach was proved and ordered to be recorded, and Thos. B. Quinby qualified as administrator c.t.a.

Accounts against the Commonwealth in criminal matters were allowed as follows: E. F. Laws, J. P., $1; Joseph E. Jester, constable, $6.52; G. T. Scarburgh, physician to jail, $6; John H. Wise, sheriff and jailor, $47.75 and $88.55.

Emma Melvin, lunatic, was discharged from jail, having been restored to sanity and furnished with a certificate thereof.

Communication received by the court from the physician to the jail, as to the sanitary condition, was ordered certified to the Board of Supervisors.

Barroom license was granted to Geo. A. Turner, at Shady Grove; and barroom and retail liquor license was granted to Wm. L. Bundick, at Mappsville.

Harvey F. Farlow was appointed surveyor of road precinct No. 20 in place of Wm. H. Dennis, removed from said precinct.

Upon petition of Thos. H. James and others for a public road at Wachapreague. Report of Thos. H. James, commissioner, filed and confirmed and order entered for payment of damages and annexing road to precinct No. 14 of Pungoteague district, of which John W. Harris is surveyor.

Frank S. Smith, appellant, vs. Levin Hopkins, appellee. The judgment of the justice reversed and judgment entered by the court for Smith.
