ACCOMAC COUNTY COURT.

Proceedings at February Term, 1883 -- Judge Thos. C. Parramore, Presiding

Richard P. Reynolds, J. P., paid into Court $5, the fine imposed by him upon Samuel Jones, for assaulting Barton Booth.

A homestead deed of J. W. Taylor was acknowledged and ordered recorded.

A deed of release from John W. Gillet, trustee, &c., to Wm. C. Fox, was acknowledged and ordered recorded.

Elizabeth S. Fletcher relinquished her right to qualify as executrix named in Wm. S. Fletcher's will, and James H. Fletcher, Jr., qualified as administrator with the will annexed.

Sally L. Willet's estate was committed to Sheriff for administration.

The following fiduciary accounts were confirmed, to-wit: Audits of estate of Edward Nock, Louisa M. Fitzgerald, Littleton K. LeCato and John Hargis, Sr., respectively; and Orphan accounts of James A. Taylor, Harry Thompson, Adelbeth Warren, Ella E., Mary Eliza., Wm. Bagwell and Nettie Hayden Mears, respectively.

Joseph C. Boggs qualified as administrator of the estate of Francis A. Campbell, deceased.

Elijah F. Bull qualified as administrator of the estate of Elisha Bull, deceased.

Isaac Dix was appointed and qualified as guardian of John Dix, orphan of Sarah Dix, deceased.

Benj. T. W. Byrd was appointed and qualified as guardian of John W. Matthews, orphan of Sarah Matthews, deceased.

An account of Walter F. Brodwater and others against the Commonwealth, for services in arresting and guarding Robert Hurley et al., charged with felony, was examined, allowed, and certified to Auditors.

Orders on County Treasurer were entered as follows, to road matters; James H. Tindle, $5; John A. Scott, $11; Wm. T. Copes, $7; Berry F. Garrison, $9; John H. Drummond, $4; George W. James, $4; George D. H. Colonna, $9; Samuel H. M. Matthews, $2; Elias H. Jester, $9; Thos. E. Fletcher, John Selby Wessells, and Frank Lankford, $1 each.

John A. Scott, resigned as surveyor of road precinct No. 24 of Lee district, and Alex M. Lewis was appointed to fill the vacancy.

On motion of John R. Fletcher, Jr., Frank Fletcher and others were appointed commissioners to assign Mrs. Louisa M. Snead's dower in his lands which descended from his father.

Bar room liquor license was granted to W. F. Joynes and George W. Berry, at Horntown.

John S. Ewell vs. Solomon T. Ewell, &c.; on appeal. Appeal dismissed and judgment for appellees' costs.

The Commonwealth vs. Wm. Bayly; indictment for disturbing religious worship. Verdict of not guilty and judgment of acquittal.

Order directing Clerk and Receiver to pay Wesley S. Phillips et als the compensation allowed for their lands to be taken by the Peninsula Railroad Company.

An account of Mrs. Margaret L. Adair against the Commonwealth for board of jury for James Bayly's trial was allowed and certified to Auditor.

James Northam's administrator vs. Robert Ayres; attachment for rent. Judgment for plaintive and order of sale.

A deed from Edward W. Taylor to Thomas T. Taylor; acknowledged and ordered recorded.

Henry Lang vs. Henry Mason; attachment for rent. Judgement for plaintiff and order of sale exempt "Steer."

The Commonwealth vs. George O. Satchell, indictment for carrying a concealed pistol. Verdict of not guilty and Judgment of acquittal.

John W. H. Parker and Raymond R. Riley's relinquished their right to qualify as executors named in Ann Riley's will, and estate of Miss Riley committed to Sheriff for administration.

Edward B. Waples et als appointed commissioners to view public road from Leemont to Hunting Creek Wharf and report condition &c.
