ACCOMAC COUNTY COURT.
Proceedings, May Term, 1894.
Henry R. Boggs qualified as administrator of Levin Parker, deceased, and Milcha A. Hall, as administratrix of Robert T. Hall, deceased.
The last will of Margaret Arbuckle was proved and Chas. L. Harmanson qualified as executor.
The following fiduciary accounts were confirmed, to wit: Orphan accounts of Carroll A. Rogers, Henry Taylor, colored, Alma D., Alice L. and Evelyn W. Mister, Jewell A. and Sherwood W. Dix, Minnesota and Chas. H. Lewis, Joseph Jones; audits of estates of Jas. S. Jones Sr., Henrietta Bloxom, Nathaniel Belote, Henry L. Killmon and John T. Harris.
The list of drawn jurors, numbering three hundred, to serve during the ensuing year, was prepared by the judge.
Ambrose S. Taylor, J.P., paid into court $10 fine imposed by him and received of John Williams, for misdemeanor.
Ex parte: Petition of Mary Poolman's admr. Report of Alfred Stratton admr., confirmed and cause removed from docket.
Geo. R. Nock and Stephen J. Pilchard, surveyors of roads, filed their annual reports, due from them at March term last.
Orders on county treasurer in road and bridge matters were entered as follows: For Riggin & Houston $8, David J. Northam 45 cents, Geo. R. Nock $7, Stephen J. Pilchard $9.
Ex parte: Petition of Wm. K. Collins' widow and minor children for assignment of homestead. Petition filed and commissioners appointed to make assignment of the land of the decedent.
Petition of Jas. Killmon of Jas. admr. Order for payment of costs and share of funds in bank of Margaret S. Bennett.
Upon application of Wm. J. Aydelotte and others for public road. Order to open and establish road, for payment of costs and damages incurred by applicants.
Comt'h vs. Leonard Gladding and Jas. Miles (on indictment for attempting to intimidate or impede an officer in the discharge of his duty). Defendants were tried, convicted and fined $5 each, which they paid into court, together with the costs of prosecution, and were then discharged from custody.
The condemnation proceedings against the batteau belonging to Burwell B. Gladding, charged with being used in violating the oyster law, were continued until the sixth day of the next term.
Ex parte: Petition of Florence M. Lewis' guardian. Report of late guardian filed and confirmed and order for further loan by him of funds in his hands.
Ex parte: Petition of Elijah Kelly's admr. c.t.a. Petition filed and order for payment of costs and for deposit in bank by admr. of the distributed share of Leonard, Augustus, Annie and Max Kelly.
Barroom and retail liquor license were granted to Jas. Lee Justice, at Parksley.
Application for bar-room license at Wachapreague was entered by Addison Brush; and Newell B. Rich and E. J. Foote were entered as defendants to contest the application. Whereupon the application was continued until the second day of the next term.
