Proceedings, March Term, 1896.

Last will of Esther L. Ashby was proved.

Last will of Robert Custis, colored, was proved and L. Floyd Nock qualified as executor.

Last will of Lybrand J. Kilmon was proved and his widow, Susan M. Kilmon, qualified as executrix.

Last will of Custis M. Dunton was proved and Luther N. Boggs qualified as administrator with will annexed.

Last will of Melinda W. Smith was proved and Charles P. Finney qualified as executor.

Last will of Joseph G. Beloate was proved and G. Fred Kelly, one of the executors relinquished his right to qualify and Thomas C. Pitts, the other executor, qualified.

Last will of Ira Payne was proved and William J. Gibb qualified as administrator with will annexed.

Charles Ludwig Fick, a native of Germany, declared his intention to become a citizen of the United States.

Samuel Richardson qualified as administrator of Margaret Richardson.

J. Early Grinnalds qualified as guardian of his sister, Eva S. Grinnalds.

Teackle E. Chase qualified as administrator of Emory J. Chase.

James F. Ward, administrator of Christopher C. Mears, executed a new bond in a larger penalty.

Joseph R. Riggs qualified as notary public for county of Accomac.

Following fiduciary accounts were confirmed and ordered recorded: Audits of estates of Sabra Conquest, John W. Belote, John M. West, Thomas McConnell, James H. Belote, and Geo. W. McMath; orphan accounts of John S. and Mabel B. McMath, Harvey L., Charles E., Lloyd W., William C., and Emma May Gilden, Wilford, Lena, and Robert Hall, Harry A. Hopkins, Orrin F., Robert J., and Catharine C. Taylor, Carson Egbert Kilmon, Maggie K. and Annie W. Turner; trust accounts of Edward J. Corbin and wife and George L. Major, et. als.

The oaths of office of mayor and councilmen of the towns of Belle Haven and Saxis were returned to the court and recorded.

Orders on State treasurer were allowed as follows: Emory Maffitt, J.P., $1.50; James B. Taylor, constable, $14.80; Thomas G. Clayton, J.P., $1; A. S. Taylor, J.P., $1 and $8.50; L. Thomas Phillips, J.P., $1 and $9.50; Tankard G. Kellam, constable, $2.70; Samuel C. Melson, special constable, $1.60; jailer, $51.45; sheriff, $35.20; Thos M. Truitt, constable, $3.20.

Tully J. Matthews vs. Henry C. Wessels, on a warrant removed by a J.P. (for $40) for timber. Judgment for plaintiff for 91 cents and costs.

Retail liquor license was granted to Levy R. Core, at Point of Forks, near Onancock.

Commonwealth vs. Jesse W. Crockett Jr., (on indictment for felonious seduction). Cause dismissed and costs paid into court.

Commonwealth vs. Jesse W. Crockett, Jr., et. al., (on a scire facias). Recognizance spared, cause dismissed and costs paid into court.

Thomas W. Russell was appointed trustee in place of William J. Chandler, in deed from James R. Hudson and wife, for benefit of James H. Lynch.

On petition of Tully J. Matthews for a public outlet. Order establishing outlet and requiring petitioner Matthews to pay the damages to the proprietor of the land and the costs of the proceeding.

Commonwealth vs. Wm. T. Lewis (on three indictments for felonious dredging). Defendant tried, convicted on first two indictments, sent to jail for one minute in each case and to pay a fine of $5 in each case and costs, and acquitted on third indictment.

Commonwealth vs. Wm. T. Lewis, et. als. (on scire facias). Recognizance spared and cause dismissed.

Quigley & Mullen vs. Mrs. S. T. Martin (on appeal from judgment of a justice of the peace). Cause continued until 2nd day of next term.

Upon petition of Jas. H. W. Parks for public bridge, over head of Bagwell's Creek. Petition filed and order entered appointing viewers.

Commonwealth vs. Sydney Mason (on indictment for felony). Defendant tried, acquitted and discharged.
