A deed from Geo. T. East and wife to Wm. S. Tunnell; ordered recorded.

Administration was granted to John D. Wimbrough on estate of Elihu Taylor, dec'd; to Henry C. Drummond, on estate of Francis B. Custis, dec'd; to James E. Harrison, on estate of Wm. S. Harrison, dec'd; to Henry L. Crockett, on estate of Peter Crockett, dec'd; to Henry L. Crockett, on estate of Wm. Pruitt, dec'd; to Upshur B. Quinby, on estate of John H. Watson, dec'd; to David Frank White, on estate of Henry Russell.

The resignation of David H. Bloxom, judge of election at Guilford accepted, and John Somers, Jr. appointed to fill the vacancy.

Order exempting Robt. T. Custis from payment of capitation tax.

Commonwealth vs. Thos. Harrison, on indictment for assault and battery; "Satisfaction" filed by Thos. C. Scott, the assaulted party, costs paid into court by defendant, and indictment dismissed.

Orders were entered on County Treasurer in favor of James H. Gladding, for $31; David D. Abbott, $8; John L. Gillespie, $16; Edward T. Ling, $10; Wm. H. Pruitt, $7; D. H. Dennis, $2.50; T. H. Taylor, $7; W. W. Ling, $22.34; Jas. Thornton, $4.65; James H. Rew, $8; John Thornes, $1; Teagle S. Taylor of S., $1; and John Somers, Sr., $9.47; for road and bridge expenses.

Christopher Satchell, surveyor of road precinct No. 22, of Lee District, ordered to purchase material and repair public bridge in said precinct.

Rev. George W. Young, (colored) granted authority to celebrate the rites of matrimony.

Order entered authorizing Louis F. Hinman to transfer his bar room license from Hunting Creek to Locustville.

E. W. Goerke, Chief Engineer of the Peninsula R. R. Co., paid in court into the hands of W. H. B. Custis, Clerk, for the lands to be taken by said company for its purposes, as follows; for Harry T. White and wife's lands, $1; George Thomas Ewell and others, $5; Wm. S. Matthews and wife, &c., $12; Levin A. Dix and others, $7; and David Frank White and others, $50, being the damages allowed said parties by the commissioners to assess the value.

Retail liquor license was granted Purnell H. Chesser, at Assawoman.

Bar room liquor license was granted Purnell H. Chesser, at Assawoman; to John B. Henderson, at Oak Hill; to Eli Bull, at Bull Run, and to Johnson & Lewis, (Edward S. Johnson and Wm. D. Lewis) at Mappsville.

Solomon T. Johnson's resignation as Judge of election at New Church, accepted and Wm. J. Johnson of J. appointed to fill vacancy.

Isaac Gray was appointed and qualified as guardian of Levin Handy Drummond, orphan of Louisa Drummond, deceased.

John S. Ewell vs. Solomon T. Ewell, et al..(appeal) continued till first day of next term.

The following indictments were continued till the next term: Noah Drummond, Wm. Bayly; Erastus J. Johnson, et als; George Williams, et als; Samuel Williams, et als; Tobias Bayly, and Henry Killman.

James Thornes was tried and convicted of assault and battery on Corbin F. Corbin, and fined $10 and costs.

James Burton was tried and convicted of shooting unlawfully Caroline Ashby's cow, and fined $5 and costs.

Elijah Jones was tried and convicted of petit larceny in stealing Joseph J. Wescott's boat, and sentenced to fifteen days in county jail and to pay costs of prosecution.

A deed from Healy P. Bagwell and wife to Wm. J. Rew, ordered recorded.

Proceedings of "Out-Lawry" were commenced against the following persons, who stand indicted for felony and have escaped arrest, to-wit: Wm. Lankford, Joseph J. English, Lewis White, Wm. M. Broadwater, Big Lewis, Geo. Washington (2 cases), Solomon Byrd, Beebe Gladding, Dawson Gladding, George Teackle, Augustus Martin, Levin J. Handy, Franklin M. Matthews and Frank Davis.

In the matters of Peninsula Railroad Co. and John Brittingham for lands of Mr. B -- orders dismissing the causes were entered by consent of company and owner.
