ACCOMAC COUNTY COURT.

Proceedings, March Term, 1891.

The following fiduciary accounts were confirmed and ordered to be recorded: Audits of estates of Wm. H. A. Hopkins, Thomas L. Trower, Edward T. Downing, John M. Fosque, George Bradford, John J. Gunter and James P. Groton; orphan accounts of Maggie N. Groton, Annie D. and Lena E. Trower, Maggie and Annie S. Turner; trust accounts of A. J. Ward & Son, Isma W. Mears & Son, Lucinda E. Walker and others and Elizabeth M. Floyd.

Last will and testaments of Isaac Shield, Emma L. Kennard, Elizabeth G. Willet and Sally Chandler approved and ordered to be recorded.

Last will of Edward D. Joynes proved, and Edward T. Joynes and Leonard H. Ames qualified as executors.

Lybrand H. Thomas qualified as guardian of Maggie Landing.

Sam'l A. Godwin qualified as administrator of Obediah W. Godwin, deceased.

Estate of Ann Young was committed to Sheriff for administration.

Emory Maffitt, J.P., paid in court $2 fine received of W. Taylor, for pursuing his business as a tonsorial artist on the Sabbath day and like fine received of George Munger, for a similar offense.

Accounts against Commonwealth in criminal and lunacy proceedings were allowed as follows: S. R. Nelson, J.P., $15; Tankard Kellam, $40.83; Wm. L. Hutchinson, $156; Benj. F. Williams, $156; Jno. W. Inspectors of jail made report and same duly recorded and order entered for whitewashing jail inside forthwith.

Order entered directing George Young's administrator to deliver estate to Alfred Young and John Fitchett, legatees, without refunding bond.

Ex Parte: Petition of Sarah Birch and others, widow and infant children of Wm. P. Birch, deceased. Report of commissioners assigning homestead, received and confirmed.

Order entered appointing commissioners to assign dower in lands of Revel J. Lewis, deceased.

Summons against Sam'l J. Davis and Wm. H. Lang, for failing to make report as inspectors of oysters, dismissed.

Jas. F. Anderton was appointed and qualified as inspector of oysters for district No. 6, in place of Walter F. Brodwater, deceased.

Sam'l J. Davis and Wm. H. Lang tendered their resignations as inspectors of oysters, which were accepted by the court.

Elva A. Jeffries was appointed inspector of oysters for district No. 1, Solomon Warner for district No. 2, and Southey Lee Milliner for district No. 3 and each qualified.

Order to repair public roads and bridges were entered on applications of surveyors of roads, Isaac T. Wright, Wm. Russell of Wm., Jos. C. Boggs, Wm. T. Bradford, Wm. P. Lewis and others, Wm. B. Duncan, John F. Dize, John Brittingham and others.

Order entered, requiring M. Glennan, guardian of Elizabeth G. Scarburgh, &c., to execute a new bond as such guardian or be removed from office.

A regular grand jury was empannelled and returned indictments (true bills) against Geo. Savage, for carrying concealed weapons; Tony H. Middleton, for assault and battery; and New York, Philadelphia and Norfolk Railroad Co., for obstructing public highway.

Inspectors of oysters reported as follows: Wm. H. Lang, inspector of 3rd district, nothing for quarter ending November 30th, 1890, for quarter ending February 28th, 1891, from rent of planting grounds, $19.75, due State, $17.78; -- Wm. J. Barnes, inspector for 5th district, for quarter ending February 28th, 1891, reported, received from tongmen, $11.50; from rent of planting grounds, $17.25; from dredgers, $551.13; due State, $521.90 -- Jno. C. Justice, inspector for 7th district, reported for quarter ending February 28th, 1891, from dredgers, $217.50; from tongmen, $$57.95; from rent of planting rounds, $3; due State, $250.61.

Application of Wm. J. Messick and others, for repair of public landing on Chincoteague Island. Petition refused, first, because, surveyor of roads is not required to make repair or keep in condition a public landing, second, because no authority is conferred upon the county court to make appropriations from the county fund for the repair of such landings.

Jos. C. Boggs and Elijah Russell filed their annual report as surveyors of roads.

Jno. F. Hope qualified as guardian of Margaret A. Beasley.

Commonwealth vs. Elisha Crockett, John U. Mason and Chas F. Colonna, on indictments for selling liquor unlawfully. Defendants tried and convicted respectively.

Rules against Harry T. White and Gabriel Shores, were discharged, they giving sufficient reasons for their absence.

G. B. Stebbins fined $2.50 and costs for failing to attend at February term, as a witness.

A rule was awarded against Jos. H. Savage for failing to attend as a juror.

Ex Parte: Jno. A. Bundick's admr. c.t.a. Order directing treasurer to check for 1890 taxes.

Geo. W. Barnes, admr. c.t.a., vs. Frank Barnes &c., (on a petition). Order for payment of costs and share of Oscar F. Barnes out of funds in bank.

Triphenia Onley vs. Geo. Dix (on attachment for rent). Report of constable filed, confirmed and case removed from docket.

John Teagle vs. Wm. Beasley (on distress warrant for rent). Report of constable filed, confirmed and case removed from docket.

Joseph L. Cooper, R. H. Connorton and J. F. Newman presented a paper writing of a meeting of the members of Tangier branch No. 4 Oyster Union, whereupon it was ordered, that William J. Barnes, inspector of oysters for district No. 5 proceed to examine, inquire and ascertain, whether the assignments for planting oysters made to Fred Gunby and Edward Corbin by a former inspector include within their limits any natural oyster beds, rock, shoal or any part thereof, and if said Gunby or Corbin is occupying or has staked off any such natural bed rock or shoal, he shall require such occupant or occupants to remove all oysters planted by him or them and all stakes, watchhouses or other obstructions from said natural beds, rocks or shoals.
