ACCOMAC COUNTY COURT.

Proceedings of July Term, 1886.

The last will and testament of Thomas P. Copes, deceased, was admitted to probate and Benjamin T. Gunter, qualified as his executor.

George W. Hope, was appointed and qualified as constable of Metompkin district, in the place of Thomas S. Byrd, resigned.

Letters of administration were granted as follows; to Edward D. Joynes, on the estate of Spencer Edwards, deceased; Patrick H. Connorton, on estate of Mary Crockett, deceased; George W. Mason on the estate of Polly Beloat, deceased.

The following were appointed and qualified as guardians; James T. Walter for Frederick L. Reynolds, orphan of John R. Reynolds; Joseph J. Wescott, for Emerson, Georgie and Essie Wescott, orphans of Nathaniel S. Wescott, deceased; William T. Waterfield, for Otho and Tankard Waterfield, infant children of William H. Waterfield.

Inspectors of oysters heretofore appointed, qualified as follows: Districts 1 and 2, Samuel J. Davis; District No. 3, Jno. W. Turlington; district No. 4, Leroy C. Bullman; District No. 5, John R. Johnson; District No. 6, James T. Weaver; district No. 7, John C. Justice; district No. 8, Charles P. Finney; district No. 9, Raymond R. Hutchinson.

George A. Edwards, was appointed as surveyor of road, precinct No. 25, of Pungoteague district in place of Jno. R. Sturgis.

A. J. Kellam, was appointed surveyor of road precinct No. 12 of Lee District, in place of John H. James, resigned.

Ordered that Geo. S. Mapp, surveyor of road precinct in Pungoteague district, purchase 1250 feet of heart white oak lumber at $2.00 per hundred, and 20 lbs. of nails, and have built a runlet or trunk near the warehouse.

Ordered, that Joseph H. Tindall, surveyor of road precinct No. 14 of Atlantic District, purchase 600 feet of heart white oak lumber at $2.00 per hundred and 10 pounds of nails at 5 cents per. lb. to be used in repairing bridge between Oak Hall and Green Hill.

Ordered that Wm. C. Northam, surveyor of road in Metompkin district be authorized to expend $30 in ditching on road from Rew's bridge, to new bayside road.

Ordered, that Samuel Ross, surveyor of roads, be authorized to expend $5.00 in ditching at Ross' branch.

Otho F. Mears qualified as an attorney at law.

The estate of Major Scott, deceased and Elizabeth S. Johnson, deceased, were committed to the hands of John H. Wise, sheriff, for administration.

Ordered, that the unadministered estate of Alfred Stockley, who departed this life in 1803, be committed to the hands of John H. Wise, sheriff.

The following fiduciary accounts were confirmed and ordered to be recorded; Administration accounts -- Edward W. Anderson, deceased; William Ward, deceased; and James P. Lilliston, deceased; Guardian accounts -- Bagwell C. and Benjamin L. Hargis, infant children of George P. Hargis; Hilary T. and Milton J. Turner, orphans of Geo K. Turner, deceased; John W., Sydney C., and Samuel C. Silverthorn, orphans of John C. Silverthorn, deceased; John Sydney and Alfred Daisey, orphans of John Daisey deceased; Betty Tyndall, orphan of Washington Tyndall, deceased.

Order entered, appointing John L. Gillespie, George T. Moore and Joseph R. Riggs commissioners to re-arrange road precinct No. 22, of Metompkin district, and if necessary of those contiguous thereto and to make proper allotment of hands thereon to work the same.

Mary Louis Battaile &c, guardian and trustee vs. Mary Louis Battaile and others. Petition filed and referred to master commissioner, for inquiry and report.

Ex parte; John A. Bundick's administrator c. t. a. Order entered for payment of costs, taxes and share of Annie J. Wright.

Ex parte; Ann W. Bundick's administrator. Order entered for payment of costs, taxes and share of Grace E. Bundick and Annie J. Wright.

Geo. W. Powell's ex'ors, vs. George P. Hargis. Order entered for removal of guardian of Benjamin F. and Bagwell C. Hargis.

Upon petition of John Somers and others for a road. Order entered appointing Joseph R. Riggs commissioner, to receive proposals for building the road.

Upon petition of E. W. Barnes, et als for public road and landing. Order, recommitting report of viewers.

Upon petition of A. W. Rew, and others for a public road. Petition filed for a public road. Petition filed for a public road to Hallwood station, and order appointing viewers.

Upon petition of B. W. Mears, and others, for a road. Referred to Board of Supervisors to approve or reject the opening of the road at the cost of three hundred dollars.

Major E. Selby and others for a public road. Referred to Board of Supervisors, to approve or reject the opening of the road at a cost of $30.

Ex parte Wm. J. Gibb and others for a public road. Order entered, dismissing petition.

Ex parte Petition of John M. Bloxom, and others. Order for viewers to make further report.

Edward S. Johnson, appellant vs. John Hurst, appellee. On appeal of judgment of justice of peace. Judgment of justice reversed, and judgment entered in favor of Johnson, appellant.

The Commonwealth vs. Hiram P. Poulson. Two indictments, for selling liquor, contrary to the provisions of the local option law. Second trial; jury disagreed in each case, and attorney for Commonwealth, by consent of court, entered nolle prosequi in each case.
