ACCOMAC COUNTY COURT.

Proceedings, December Term, 1902.

John R. Rew qualified as administrator of Garrett F. Johnson, deceased.

William P. Godwin was appointed and qualified as constable of Metompkin Magisterial District, to fill unexpired term of George D. Barnes, resigned.

Upon petition of George C. Watson and others for a public road. Order entered for payment of viewers and for filing duplicate receipts of same in record of this cause.

An inquest held by John A. Mears, J.P., acting coroner, over the dead body of John Payne, was returned to the court and ordered to be filed.

A certificate from G. G. Joynes, superintendent of public schools of Accomac, was entered of record, setting forth the appointment and qualification of the following District School trustees: J. A. M. Whealton, Islands; Benj. G. Johnson, Atlantic; Hezze Fitzgerald, Metompkin; Henry R. Boggs, Lee; S. T. Waples, Onancock; Wm. J. Wyatt, Pungoteague.

Upon petition of John E. Watson and others for a public road. Report of James A. Winder, commissioner, filed and confirmed; and order entered for payment of costs of proceedings and removal from docket.

An inquest held by George E. Winder, J.P., acting coroner, over the dead body of an unknown person, returned to the court and filed.

The following fiduciary accounts were confirmed and ordered to be recorded: Audit of estate of Raymond H. Johnson, deceased; orphan accounts of Wilfred Hall, Claudius and Marietta McLane

Ex parte: James Killmon of James' administrator. Report of William T. Mason, administrator, filed and confirmed; and order entered for removal of cause from docket.

Ex parte: John H. Wise, committee of Albert Lewis. Order entered for payment of costs of petition not heretofore ordered paid, and for the expenditure of ten dollars per month for the support and maintenance of said Albert Lewis.

J. Lee Justis vs. The agent of the New York, Philadelphia and Norfolk Railroad Co., upon a warrant removed from trial. Caused dismissed on motion of defendant.

Wm. T. Dix vs. New York, Philadelphia and Norfolk Railroad Co., upon a warrant for damages, removed before trial to this court. Dismissed upon motion of defendant because of errors on the face thereof and order entered, that defendant recover of plaintiff costs in this behalf expended.

John H. Hopkins, county treasurer, made report of lands improperly assessed in District No. 1 in this county for year 1901, the tax on which with penalty amounted to $19.37; also of real estate in said district delinquent for 1901, the tax on which with the penalty amounted to $15.53.

John H. Hopkins, county treasurer, presented list of insolvents in the capitation and property taxes for year 1901, which said list as to State tax and penalty thereon in District No. 1 amounted to $551.64; and in District No. 2 $811.05.

Upon application of Menhaden Oil and Guano Co. for correction of erroneous assessment. Order was entered exonerating said Company from the payment of tax of $50.00, if not paid, and if paid for refunding same.

Ex parte: Petition of Annie Kelley's administrator and Elijah Kelley's administrator. Order entered for withdrawal of fund in each cause, for payment of costs and taxes and balance to Max Kelly.
