ACCOMAC COUNTY COURT.

Proceedings, August Term, 1901.

The last will an testament of Joshua W. Reed Sr., deceased, was proved and ordered to be recorded.

The last will and testament of Georgie R. Mapp, deceased, was proved and George Walter Mapp qualified as executor.

The following fiduciary accounts were confirmed and ordered to be recorded: Audits of estates of Joseph E. Brodwater and Elizabeth A. Bulman; orphan accounts of Sarah Y. Anderson and Ovenia Finney; guardian account of Adeline E. Hall; trust accounts of Albert S. Matthews and others, Thos. W. Russell, Solomon J. Lucas and wife.

A retail liquor license was granted to Joseph H. Stevens and Benjamin F. Hargis, under the firm and style of Stevens & Hargis, at their house at Wachapreague.

Roy D. White, duly licensed by the Supreme Court of Appeals of Virginia to practice law in the courts of the Commonwealth, qualified to practice in county court of Accomac.

The sheriff made report to court the number of prisoners in jail, their offences, sentences, &c.

Retail liquor license was granted to Ernest J. Figgs at his house at Rue.

Grand juries empanelled, returned "true bills". One for maliciously shooting with intent to main, disfigure, disable and kill; one for unlawfully selling wine, ardent spirits, malt liquors and a mixture thereof without a license.

Upon petition of George O. Watson and others for a public road. Viewers appointed.

Letters of administration were granted to Francis E. Scott on the estate of Walter W. Scott, deceased.

The estate of George West, colored, was committed to Lee B. Kellam, sheriff, to be administered according to law.

Upon petition of L. O. Watson and others for a public road. The court approved the opening of the road in accordance with viewers' report and ordered that same be certified to Board of Supervisors.

Upon petition of William H. Hitchens and others for a public road. The court approved the opening of the road in accordance with viewers' report and ordered that same be certified to Board of Supervisors.

Upon a petition of Frank C. Taylor and others for a public road. Otho K. Walker, road machine manager, was appointed commissioner to open and construct road in accordance with viewers' report and as soon as his work is completed to make report to court.

George R. Coleburn applied for license to sell as a retail liquor dealer at his house at Chincoteague and notice of contest was entered by C. O. Disbrow and others. Application continued on motion of said Coleburn until first day of next term.

Upon petition of Albert F. Mears and others to widen a road. Evidence introduced by petitioners, exceptions and argument of counsel heard by court, and cause continued until first day of next term.

Upon petition of Jno. W. Bonnewell and others for a public road. Ordered that road be opened in accordance with viewers' report provided that cost does not exceed $80.00 and Otho K. Walker, road machine manager, was appointed a commissioner for that purpose, with instructions to report to court as soon as his work is completed.

Upon petition of John E. Watson and others for a public road. The court approved the opening of road in accordance with report of viewers and ordered that same be certified to Board of Supervisors for their approval.
